HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) offers excellent heat and cold resistance, chemical stability, high rigidity, toughness, and mechanical strength. Its dielectric properties and environmental stress cracking resistance are also noteworthy.
Compared to LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene), HDPE boasts superior hardness, tensile strength, and creep resistance. It also exhibits good wear resistance, electrical insulation, toughness, and cold resistance, albeit slightly lower than LDPE.
HDPE demonstrates exceptional chemical stability, being insoluble in organic solvents and resistant to acid, alkali, and salt corrosion. Additionally, it has low permeability to water vapor and air, along with minimal water absorption.
However, HDPE's aging resistance is relatively poor, and its environmental cracking resistance is not as robust as LDPE. To enhance performance, antioxidants and ultraviolet absorbents are recommended additives.
It is important to note that HDPE film's hot deformation temperature under stress is lower, necessitating caution during application.
